Connecting Meta brings your clients' ad performance into aOS — spend, impressions, clicks, purchases and the creative behind them.
The access requested is read-only reporting. aOS reads your ad accounts and their results; it doesn't create campaigns, change budgets, or alter anything in Ads Manager.
How this one is structured
You connect once, with the Facebook account that manages your clients' ad accounts. That single connection covers everything that account can reach.
Then you assign ad accounts to clients and switch them on. That mapping is what makes a client's dashboard show their data and nobody else's.
Google works the same way. Faire, Klaviyo and Recharge don't — those are connected once per client.
Who can connect it
Owners and admins, along with anyone who has the Manage integrations permission.
Connect it
Go to Settings → Integrations and find Meta Ads.
Click Connect Meta Ads and sign in to Facebook.
Approve the request. aOS then scans for the ad accounts your login can reach — larger agencies often have dozens.
Open Manage accounts, assign each account to a client, and switch on the ones you want aOS to pull.
Anything left switched off is simply not pulled. That's useful when your Facebook login reaches accounts that aren't yours to report on — personal ad accounts, or former clients.
When your data appears
Switching an account on pulls two years of history, along with that account's ad creative — the images, headlines and body copy behind each ad. Both start immediately, so give it a few minutes per account rather than expecting it instantly.
After that, a nightly sync keeps everything current. Performance figures and creative refresh on separate overnight jobs, which occasionally means one is a day fresher than the other. That's normal.
Data appears against the client you assigned the account to.
Adding accounts later
When you take on a new client, use Refresh accounts to re-scan, then assign their ad account. You don't need to reconnect Meta itself — the existing connection already covers anything your login can reach.
If a newly shared account doesn't appear, access hasn't reached your Facebook login yet. That's granted on Meta's side, in the client's Business Manager, not in aOS.
Reconnect vs Disconnect
These do very different things, and the difference matters.
Reconnect signs you in to Meta again and replaces the stored access. Your data and your account assignments are kept. This is what you want if syncing has stopped or aOS says your connection has expired.
Disconnect removes everything — the connection, the ad performance history aOS has stored, and every account-to-client assignment. It's deliberate: disconnecting is how you tell us to delete your Meta data, and we honour that.
If something is wrong, try Reconnect first. Disconnect is for when you actually want the data gone.
Troubleshooting
"This Meta connection has expired"
Click Reconnect and sign in to Meta again. Your data and assignments are preserved.
"Meta is refusing access for this account"
Reconnect. If it fails again, the Facebook account may have lost access to the ad accounts, which is changed in Meta's Business Manager rather than in aOS.
"No permission to connect integrations"
Ask your account owner to connect Meta for you, or to enable the Manage integrations permission on your user in Settings.
A client's dashboard has no Meta data
Check the ad account is both assigned to that client and switched on in Manage accounts. Assigned but disabled is the most common cause.
The Ad Copy Engine is empty but my spend data is fine
Creative and performance figures refresh on separate nightly jobs, so a short gap between them is normal. If the Ad Copy Engine is still empty a day after enabling an account, contact support.
An ad account I expect isn't listed
Use Refresh accounts to re-scan. If it still doesn't appear, your Facebook login doesn't have access to it yet.
Syncing is failing
Settings → Integrations shows the reason on the Meta row, along with when data last arrived. Most causes resolve with Reconnect.
