Connect Recharge

Bring a client's subscription and recurring revenue data into aOS using a store-generated token.

Connecting Recharge brings a client's subscription and recurring charge data into aOS, so retention and recurring revenue show up alongside their other numbers.

Recharge works differently from the other connectors

Most connectors send you off to sign in and come back. Recharge uses a token the store owner creates in their own Recharge admin and hands to you.

The token is read-only, and it doesn't expire — once it's in, it keeps working.

What you'll need from the store owner

Ask them to create an Admin API token in their Recharge admin, under Tools & apps → API tokens, with these permissions:

  • Read orders — required

  • Read subscriptions — required

  • Read store — optional, and worth including; it lets aOS label the connection with the store's name

Then have them send you the token and their store domain.

Connect it

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and find Recharge.

  2. Choose the client this store belongs to.

  3. Paste the store domain and the token.

  4. Save. aOS checks the token against Recharge before storing it, so if something's wrong you'll know immediately rather than discovering it days later.

If the token is rejected

aOS validates before saving, so a rejection at this point means one of three things:

  • The token was copied incompletely. These are long; it's easy to miss characters at either end.

  • It's missing a required permission. Read orders and read subscriptions both have to be there. The store owner can create a new token with the right permissions.

  • It belongs to a different store than the domain you entered.

Troubleshooting

"No permission to connect integrations"
Ask your account owner to connect Recharge for you, or to enable the Manage integrations permission on your user in Settings.

Data has stopped updating
Recharge tokens don't expire, so this usually means the token was deleted or its permissions were changed in the store's Recharge admin. Ask the store owner to confirm it's still there, and create a new one if not.

Subscription counts look wrong
Check the connection is against the right client, and that the token includes read subscriptions rather than only read orders.

Disconnecting

Find the store in the Recharge row in Settings → Integrations and disconnect it there. Other clients' Recharge stores are unaffected.

Worth telling the store owner when you do — the token they created is theirs to delete on their side.
